Tasmanian Wineries: Unique Climate producing World-Class Wine!

This is especially true for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and aromatic whites which love Tasmania. The clean air and rich soil add to the complexity and refinement of Tasmanian wines.

From First Vines to Cellar Doors

Australia can thank Bartholomew Broughton for successfully growing vines at Prospect Farm on the banks of the Derwent from in the 1820’s. His early success, which included a sparkling wine, led to commercial vineyards popping up in both northern Tasmania and the south, by 1830. Since those early times, winemakers have been experimenting with wine styles, and seven wine regions have been established.
